A sensuous lingerie fabric produced on the RSJ 5/1 EL for
captivating and seducing the senses
With the body shown here, designers have succeeded in
creating a lingerie fabric that would have enabled Aphrodite to do much more
than turn Adonis’ head.
At first glance, it seems very similar to the pattern
described in the last issue of KWP /1/, but this new fabric produced on the RSJ
5/1 EL is more sophisticated and features a wider range of different patterns.
Particularly eye-catching is the clever interpretation of the striped look. The
front section of the body combines narrow, vertical satin stripes in varying
widths, some of which are crossed by stripes of a delicate jacquard pattern. It
also features coloured, doubled-lined, zigzag patterns having delicate
connecting pieces running between them.
The patterned ground emphasises the dynamic look of the
garment. It consists of V-shaped sections worked in different jacquard
patterns, which create a sensuous, transparent look and a fine, engraved
appearance. The processing sequences of the coloured pattern yarns that are
incorporated into the jacquard design in the front section merge smoothly and
seamlessly into the larger checked pattern on the back. The rectangular shapes
slip attractively into each other to create a classic diamond pattern. A
playful, filigree effect continues the jacquard motif from the front section to
the intersecting points of the diamonds. All the special features of the RSJ
5/1 EL have enabled it to fully exploit all its performance potential in
creating this design with its range of different patterns.
The contrasting colour effects in the front and back
sections are produced by the drawing-in arrangement of the yarns in GB 5 and GB
6 in the repeat, which work a weft lapping. Both ground guide bars execute the
same movements to produce the zigzag lines in the front section, whereas they
execute opposing movements to create the diamond pattern in the back section.
The machine must be able to work shog paths of up to 170
needles and also operate with EL control and sequential yarn feed to produce
the design as a whole.
The colour of the large, bold motifs is emphasised even more
by the black ground. Cationic polyester yarn is used in GB 5 and GB 6 to
produce the required colour effects. The ground, which is worked in the
seductive, transparent jacquard pattern, is made from a polyester/elastane
blend, and is the result of the jacquard bar and two ground guide bars working
in harmony with each other.
This sensuous design is not only seductive, it also offers
many advantages in terms of making-up. The panel fabric can be processed so
that it forms the torso section of
