Creora eco for sustainability

7 September 2009, Paris - As part of their growing collection of eco friendly fibres, Hyosung are highlighting the creora eco collection including creoraH-550 and Mipan regen recycled nylon and regen recycled polyester, for the swim and intimate markets at Paris Mode City. Hyosung, the second largest spandex producer in the world, says it has care for the environment embedded in its corporate philosophy and is focused on offering fibres for textiles that have reduced environmental impact.

Creora H-550 is the new low settable spandex for saving energy in knitting. H-550 gives fabrics soft touch, reduces yellowing, delivers whiter whites and results in less fabric curling with improved moulding and chlorine resistance. An additional fabric manufacturer benefit is the ability to re-dye and over-dye without losing power.

Creora eco/H-550, with its reduced energy usage, is perfect to blend with other eco-friendly fibres: organic cotton, Modal, Promodal, Tencel, and other cellulosics, plus cotton, wool, silk, rayon and acrylic. Mills like Fountainset and Pacific are using H-550 to offer fabrics with Modal or Tencel for moulding bras. European mill partners include Berlaine, Louis Vidon, Sofileta, Nil Orme, Yesim and Dukuboy. Other mills include New Wide, Hongik, Sewang, Taijin, and Yard Interactive.

With a continuing trend for super light weight fabrics, Creora says H-550 elastane is ideal for use in 40gg, 50gg, and 60gg fabrics to minimise curling while maintaining the aesthetics and maximizing the design potential of the ultra soft, lightweight fabrics. Mill partners include Louis Vidon, Pacific, Best Pacific, Tex-tile, Fiori, and PT Namyeung.

For performance in swimwear and in activewear, creoraH-550 is also the ideal product to blend with polypropylene to create quick drying, super lightweight performance fabrics or in two sided/double faced constructions with polyester for a push-pull moisture management effect, Creora says. Fabric King in Taiwan and Sae Chang from Korea are featuring these performance fabrics.

Hyosung’s Mipanregen recycled nylon, a further example of the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship, uses post consumer waste from fishing nets to produce high quality nylon with the same colour quality, consistency and uniformity as virgin nylon.  Regen nylon and polyester are the first synthetic yarns certified independently by the Global Certification Standard, the company says.  They reduce energy consumption, reduce waste to landfill, and conserve petroleum resources.

For the latest swim fashion combined with eco chic, Hyosung will feature the Eco-Panda swimwear collection. The company says it is the first eco-swimwear line to appear in the swimwear market.  Eco-Panda swimwear is comprised of Mipan regen recycled nylon and chlorine resistant creora.  The collection was launched in July.
