14 October 2009, Migdal Ha’emek – Israeli performance nylon
producer Nilit is to showcase its new EcoCare recycled nylon 6.6 and
high-performance Cordura products at this year’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel
Fabrics Show. The show will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo
Centre from 20–23 October.
The Company has selected the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel
Fabrics Show to highlight its recent innovations and apparel manufactured from
the extremely durable Cordura and says EcoCare is the only recycled nylon 6.6
with deep, uniform colour.
89% recycled content
“This is the first recycled fibre that retains the
properties of our virgin fibres and gives excellent colour depth and uniformity
in the regular dye process”, says Alon Weiser, Nilit’s R&D and and
Technical Services Manager. Nilit EcoCare nylon 6.6 yarns are certified by
Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) for minimum 89% recycled content.
"The Company’s recycled yarns reflect our long-standing consideration for
the environment and our reputation as an innovator in yarn engineering and
production,” notes Oded Breier, Nilit’s Marketing & Sales Manager. Nilit
EcoCare was initially introduced at Interfilière 2009 in September.
Cordura fabric, a registered trademark of Invista, used
under license to Nilit for nylon fabric products, delivers durability,
versatility and reliability in activewear, outerwear, work wear, denim and
socks. Cordura fibres, spun and textured
in Europe, promise “reliable performance across a broad range of apparel
applications,” states Breier. “With fabrics weighing as little as 100gsm, the
Cordura brand combines all of the benefits of lightweight fabrics with
exceptional functionality and durability, with high tear and abrasion
resistance.”
Nilit provides an original, proprietary trend service to its
customers. It’s Spring/Summer 2011 Trendbook for body fashion and active sports
will be available at Intertextile Shanghai in October. The book, which features
collections designed and conceived by Nilit Fashion Consultant Ilana
Joselowitz, takes its theme from ‘a society seeking ways to live a better life
in a new mood sparked by a quest for meaning.’
Nilit’s booth and exhibit at the Show will feature its other
well-known fibre products for the seamless, circular knit, legwear and woven wear markets.
Dedication to Chinese market
In 2007, Nilit opened its facility in Suzhou, China, “to
meet the customer demand from within the country and to expand our presence in
this important market,” according to Breier. “The Chinese market remains a
critical growth region for Nilit,” he adds, “with the demand for our
high-quality yarns in this region growing considerably over recent years. We
remain dedicated to strengthening this important market.”
Nilit Ltd produces nylon 6.6 and microfiber yarns in a broad
