New Patent: Setting-up needle and setting-up device for flat knitting machine

Applicant:           MATSUYA IND LTD [JP]; NAKAHARA SHIGEKI [JP]

Inventor(s):        NAKAHARA SHIGEKI [JP]

Abstract of WO 2009139042 (A1)

A setting-up device for flat knitting machine that allows freely detaching of a setting-up yarn from a setting-up needle and ensures easy low-cost working of the setting-up needle and that even in the event of a decrease of downward tension to a knitted fabric during knitting operation, is free from accidental disengagement of the setting-up yarn from the setting-up needle. In the setting-up device (1), each setting-up needle (3) comprises a pair of setting-up needles consisting of, disposed in opposite relationship, a first setting-up needle (5) and a second setting-up needle (6). When an interlock part (9) of the first setting-up needle (5) and an interlock part (10) of the second setting-up needle (6) are in interlocking positional relationship, the interlock part (9) at its inferior area (9a) is capable of holding a setting-up yarn (50). When the interlock parts are not in interlocking positional relationship, the setting-up yarn (50) cannot be held up.
