22 April 2010,
Istanbul - German circular knitting machine builder Terrot will be aiming to
capture more of the Turkish market for mini-jacquard and full jacquard fabrics
when it exhibits its latest machines at Texpo Eurasia 2010, (27th Textile,
Woven, Yarn, Finishing, Knitting, Hosiery Machines, Side Industries and
Chemicals Fair) which is organized by Tüyap Fairs Inc. with the cooperation of
Teknik Ltd. Known for many years as the Tüyap exhibition, the event takes place
from 15-18 May, 2010 at Tüyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center
Büyükçekmece-Istanbul, Turkey.
In 2009, 902 exhibitors and their representatives from 26
countries participated in the event and 33,744 professionals from Turkey and 57
other countries attended. Texpo Eurasia 2010 will run concurrently with the 3rd
Istanbul Technical Textiles, Nonwoven and Weaving Technologies Trade Fair. Terrot
will exhibit, along with its local partner ERKO SINAĐ ÜRÜNLER MÜMESSĐLLĐK
TĐC.LTD.STĐ, its UP472 Mini-Jacquard and SCC572 Electronic Jacquard Open Width
Frame models.
Exhibition machines:
Model UP472
Terrot mini-jacquard series machines are amongst the company’s
best selling machines and the company says that when it comes to the
manufacture of fabrics such as mini-jacquard or 8-lock structures, model UP472
offers exceptional flexibility and economy. The machine can be converted for
production of the entire structure spectrum in a few easy stages. Terrot says
that the “UP472 is often imitated, but never equalled”, referring to the
attempts of other manufacturers to emulate it’s easy to operate jacquard
selection technology. “But none has ever succeeded in matching it in terms of quality
or functional and production reliability,” the company adds.
The UP472 uses 3-way technique at every feeder with the selection
mechanism moving the cylinder needles to the freely selectable knit-tuck-miss
position. The machine is also fitted with Terrot’s drop cam system which the
company claims gives its machines a distinct advantage over competitors’ machines
which have either open or swing cam systems. Terrot’s drop cam system incorporates
double-sided cams with a different needle position on each face, which enables
quick and easy change of knitting structures from the outside, without the need
to remove the cam segment.
The field of
application of Terrot’s mini-jacquard series can be extended with additional
user-friendly attachments for mesh knits; weft yarn feeders, latch openers and 2
heights blind needle plush and elastane plating.
Terrot has recently
introduced some new mini-jacquard models, which are summarized below, together
with gauge, diameter and feed options for the range:

The UP472 featured at
the Tuyap exhibition will have the following specification:
Diameter: 34 inch
Gauge: E 20
Number of feeders: 84
Number of needle tracks: 36/72 wales pattern width
Knitting structure: Mini-Jacquard Double-Jersey
Fabric application: Fashion outerwear, sports and
leisurewear, underwear, home wear and technical textiles.
Exhibition machines:
Model SCC572 Open Width Frame
Terrot Electronic Single Jersey Jacquard machines aim to provide
unlimited flexibility in patterning and the company’s Open Width device fulfils
the raised quality demands for first class elastane plated fabrics.
The SCC572 Electronic Single Jersey Jacquard is available in
gauges up to 36, a gauge which is suitable for fine flowing jacquard fabrics.
Gauge 40 is also available on request and when such fine gauges are combined
with elastane plating, new areas of application open up such as superfine
fabrics for exclusive underwear.
Terrot says that in daily operation with high machine speeds,
the significant advantage of it’s continuously developed selection system with
piezo-technology is shown off particularly with fine gauges. The 34 inch diameter
SCC572 Open Width Frame to be exhibited in Istanbul has a speed factor of 660
and Terrot says that precise accurate selection is proven on all of its electronically
controlled machines and the patterning possibilities with 3-way technique on
every feeder is also best tested for production and combined uniquely with
highest feeder versions available.
For the SCC572 Open Width Frame, Terrot claims first-class
crease free fabric quality without selvedges over the complete width of the fabric,
originating from the interaction of well-conceived high quality machine components.
Additionally, the SCC572 Open Width Frame requires minimum floor space due to
the optimisation of the frame and is said to offer reduced costs for
installation and introduction of the machine, the company says. Terrot’s multifunctional
control panel also permits the supervision of the machine from different working
positions.
The SCC572 features two DC-motors take-down and winding for even
fabric packages. Terrot says its continuous development also results in improved
efficiency of the machines giving clear advantages in everyday operation, such
as generally improved handling and optimised process reliability, user-friendly
door design, compact door rack as well as optimised door latch. Terrot says the
machine can also be easily converted from open width to tubular form by means
of a conversion kit.
