27 July 2010, Manchester, UK – Knitting Industry, a free
access online news and technical resource for the global knitting and hosiery
industries, also has its own Used Machinery trading zone. The highly intuitive and searchable trading zone has been
designed by Knitting Industry’s founder Billy Hunter, an experienced seller of
used knitting machinery.
Used Machinery is free to use for both buyers and sellers
and its searchable machine categories are:
Flat & Fully Fashioned Knitting
Circular Knitting - Single Jersey
Circular Knitting - Double Jersey
Circular Knitting - Cylinders
Circular Knitting - Conversions
Hosiery
Seamless
Dyeing & Finishing
Warp Knitting & Crochet
Warp Knitting & Crochet – Warpers, Creels, Beams
Miscellaneous
Spare Parts
Buyers can use Used Machinery free
of charge and simply click on the relevant machinery category to find what they
want. Billy Hunter explains: “If I am looking for a used Shima SES122FF flat
knitting machine in 12 gauge, I simply click the ‘Flat & Fully Fashioned
Knitting’ category and select gauge, width and number of systems from dropdown
menus. A list of machines is then displayed and I click on it to reveal further
detail and the seller’s details. I then contact the seller directly to discuss
a purchase.”
Hunter, who has sold all kinds of knitting machinery,
designed Used
Machinery using his knowledge and experience of the used knitting machinery
business. “I wanted to make sure that Used Machinery was different to what is already on offer and comprehensive so that we could
cater for all areas of the industry. I also wanted to make sure that it would
be easy to use as most Used Machinery users will be short of time and need to
be able to find what they want quickly. People like sites which are easy to use
and where they can find what they want within a few clicks.”
Knitting Industry has readers all over the world who speak a
myriad of languages and therefore it was important to design something which
was intuitive and didn’t need complex instructions in lots of languages. “Used Machinery is so simple to use that it doesn’t need any instructions for either finding or
uploading machines.” Hunter added.
Sellers can simply register their company details on Used Machinery,
set a username and password and can upload machines immediately. They can then
change their list whenever they choose as they sell their machines. Used
Machinery will suit all sellers of used knitting machinery, from companies
looking to offload single machines to dealers with long inventories. Used Machinery already has hundreds of machines uploaded for sale here.
Sellers with large lists of machines to sell, such as
auctioneers, should contact KnittingIndustry.com to ask about its upload
service by emailing usedmachinery@knittingindustry.com .
