26 January 2009, Obertshausen & Chemnitz – Karl Mayer
Malimo is to launch a brand new highly innovative multiaxial stitch-bonding
machine called the Malitronic at the JEC Composites show which will be held in
Paris from 24-26 March.
Karl Mayer’s Chemnitz-based subsidiary is renowned for its
high level of innovation and one of the organisations it works closely with on
its new developments is the CETEX Institut für Textil- und
Verarbeitungsmaschinen gemeinnützige GmbH (CETEX Non-profit-making Institute
for Textile and Processing Machines). The two companies are exhibiting on a
joint stand in the German pavilion at this year’s JEC Composites Show.
As a result of the rapid growth of the composites industry,
and especially in view of the developments taking place in the wind power
sector, Karl Mayer Malimo has stepped up development on its multiaxial machines
and is now launching the highly innovative Malitronic multiaxial. The new
generation of machines is to be unveiled for the first time at the JEC
Composites Show and, with its completely new concept, offers a level of
performance that has never been achieved before in terms of its productivity,
handling and fabric quality, Karl Mayer Malimo says.
The JEC Composites Show will be open for business from 24 to
26 March at the Paris Expo exhibition site, Porte de Versailles. The show is
the largest and most important exhibition for the composites sector, and
consequently for fibre-reinforced plastics markets which are expected grow in
importance in future.
The world-wide trend for promoting sustainability, and
especially the increased use of renewable energy sources, should ensure that
composite materials will continue to enjoy rapid growth rates well into the
future. The wind power industry alone recorded a growth of 30.5% between 2006
and 2007 in response to the increased need to conserve resources and protect
the climate.
The number of visitors attending the JEC Show mirrors this
trend. 1053 exhibiting companies and 27, 000 visitors at the 2008 exhibition
achieved record attendance figures, and the organisers are expecting that this
year will be at least equally successful. Participating in this leading trade
fair for the sector is an absolute must for the large machine manufacturers and
Karl Mayer Malimo is no exception.
