Santoni clarifies jobs position and gears up for economic recovery

18 February 2009, Brescia – Santoni SpA, manufacturer of the Santoni, Sangiacomo, Mec-Mor, Vignoni and Matec machinery brands, today issued a statement in order to clarify its position regarding the effects of the global downturn on its business and recent reports in the press.

Speaking from Brescia, Italy, a spokesperson for the company said:

“Referring to the latest news on magazines and internet sites Santoni SpA underlines the following:

Due to the worldwide economic crisis and specifically in 2009, Santoni SpA has been forced to temporarily reduce its production, using government aids and support (cassa integrazione) and is not firing its own employees. Santoni spa does not want to loose its existing technical and professional skills.”

“In addition, Santoni SpA herewith confirms its increase in its Research and Development strategy for new products in order to be one hundred percent ready for the economic recovery.” The company added.
