Luxury hosiery manufacturer Corgi has revealed its exclusive Regimental Collection, produced in close association with His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, at the prestigious Coronation Festival in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Unique and high quality

The Regimental Collection was the idea of HRH The Prince of Wales. It includes nine designs – each one depicting the unique stripe and colours of one of the Regiments or Battalions of which he is Colonel or Colonel-in-Chief.  Unlike traditional military hosiery, however, the fine-gauge socks are produced from 100% pure soft cotton, making them ideally suited to everyday smart or casual wear.

The Collection is also endorsed by the UK Ministry of Defence and a proportion of the proceeds from all sales will be donated to Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for British Veterans suffering from mental ill-health and of which The Prince of Wales is Patron.

Supporting Veterans charity

Chris Jones, Joint Managing Director of Corgi, said: “We are honoured to be working with HRH The Prince of Wales on this project.  His Royal Highness actually initiated the idea for the range and we were delighted to run with it. The fact that we are able to donate a proportion of the proceeds from sales to a charity that is so close to The Prince’s heart is an added bonus”.

Andrew Cameron, Chief Executive of Combat Stress, said: “We are immensely proud to have had the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales since 2003. We are currently treating more than 5,200 Veterans and are grateful that our work is being highlighted and supported by His Royal Highness and Corgi through their sales. Combat Stress relies heavily on public donations so the money raised will enable us to continue delivering specialist care to the growing numbers of Veterans across the UK.”

Long-standing relationship

HRH The Prince of Wales awarded Corgi, the family-run company, its Royal Warrant in 1989 and has visited its Carmarthenshire factory, located just a short distance from the Welsh home at Llwynywermod he shares with HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.

His Royal Highness has long championed the value and importance of British manufacturing and is vocal in his support of companies like Corgi, whose goods are produced here in the UK.

Visitors to the Coronation Festival will be able to purchase socks from the Regimental Collection. Following the Festival, the range will be available exclusively through Mr Porter until September and then via selected retailers and Corgi's own website.
