A new integrated module for exhaust air treatment for stenter systems is offered by Monforts to comply with emission levels legislation.

A fully automatic modular unit is introduced by Monforts to treat the exhaust air of stenter systems, improving the environmental capability and ensuring increased energy savings.

The exhaust air cleaning (EAC) system has been designed by Koenig AG to offer a compact working solution with Monforts integrated heat recovery system. The combined systems require minimal secondary installation and special structures or steel supports since the units are self supporting and integrated within the roof structures of the stenter.

Up to 100% of the dust particle load in the stenters exhaust air can be removed and upto 90%of the condensable VOC’s (volatile organic components) can also be removed: to ensure that the system complies with emission levels legislation in many countries.

Exhaust air is passed through a scrubbing system within the EAC where a water mist filters the contaminates causing the particles to bond with the water droplets. These are separated in a water / oil separator.

Part of the treated water is then returned to the water injector nozzle in the scrubber ensuring that fresh water consumption remains as low as 1.5 cbm / h.

Throughout the scrubbing process the exhaust air temperature flow is reduced to 50ºC. Combined with the Monforts heat recovery system, capitalising on the high temperature of the exhaust air, savings of more than 30% in energy savings can be achieved.
