Almost 1500 guests assembled in Wakayama, the capital city of Wakayama Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan, for the Shima Seiki 50th Anniversary Celebration last week.
Approximately 750 guests and Shima Seiki representatives gathered at the company’s headquarters and at the city’s Big Whale arena on each of the 8th and 9th November to celebrate the historic occasion. In addition, almost 1350 employees celebrated their company’s 50th on Saturday 10th November at the same venue.
At this year’s India ITME 2012 to be held from 2nd to 7th December in Mumbai Karl Mayer will be presenting its most comprehensive machinery range ever displayed at ITME. Exhibitors at this week’s hosiery machinery events in Brescia, Northern Italy seem satisfied so far with both the number and the quality of visitors. The Reutlingen based company says that its newly designed 755 square metre booth was a hit with trade show visitors and was the most popular exhibit at the event, with up to 1200 visitors per day.
A survey of Italian hosiery producers has found that although Italian made hosiery still occupies a top quality position in the market, consumers do not know how to recognise it. The survey, conducted recently by the organisers of the forthcoming FIMAST exhibition, found that 44% of producers said that “consumers would like to buy a higher quality product but can’t recognize it.”
