As a highly acclaimed, internationally respected fashion innovator for the past 30 years, Japanese fashion designer Michiko Koshino is excited to be invited to collaborate with one of the highest quality textiles regions in the world at the Wakayama Knit Association Exhibition in London in February.

Japan’s Wakayama Prefecture, best known in our industry as the home of leading flat knitting machine builder Shima Seiki, is an influential force in the Japanese textiles industry which has held a strong spirit of craftsmanship reaching back more than 600 years. Some of the region’s producers’ highly technological materials are world renowned and they specialise in circular knitted fabrics, yarn twisting, yarn dyeing and weaving.

During the exhibition Michiko will showcase her craft and innovative skill along with ten exceptional Japanese producers who will present their innovative, sustainable, and supreme quality textile developments for the upcoming seasons.

Michiko Koshino has selected premium yarns in which she transforms both knitting and structure to create revolutionary jerseys for both men and women for her Michiko Koshino Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

The Wakayama Knit Association Exhibition is the first ever to be held in London which will be open for designers and buyers from the 14th to the 15th of February Michiko Koshino’s private showroom for two days before heading to Premiere Vision in Paris.
