Shima Seiki, the leading computerized knitting machine manufacturer of Wakayama, will be exhibiting at the 13th Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG 2016) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in cooperation with its partner Pacific Associates.

Operating within the Bangladeshi market since 1996, this will be the ninth time the Japanese manufacturer will participate at DTG. At this year’s edition of the exhibition, the company will be exhibiting its latest solutions to meet those current needs, as well as advanced innovations for future market needs.

Bangladesh knitwear market

As an established market for knitwear manufacturing, Bangladesh has seen a significant increase in knit production for export purposes in recent years. At the same time, buyers are demanding quicker turnaround for orders with more variety.

Add to that the current demand for higher wages and improved working conditions, and the result is the current trend in transference of technology from manually operated hand-flat knitting machines to computerized flat knitting machines.

SWG061N 10G

Referred to as SWG-Mini, Shima Seiki’s compact line of WHOLEGARMENT machines are capable of producing seam-free items in one-piece with no linking or sewing required. With their compact size, short lead times and versatile production capacity exclusive to WHOLEGARMENT knitting, the SWGMini series allows customers to participate in the WHOLEGARMENT market with minimal investment, according to the manufacturer.

SWG061N knitting machine features a 24-inch (60cm) knitting width, for knitting such items as gloves, socks, hats, mufflers, neckties and other small accessory items, all knitted in three-dimensions without seams.

MACH2SIR123-SV 14G

Shima Seiki’s intarsia specialty machine MACH2SIR is said to offer high productivity. With a maximum of 40 intarsia carriers, MACH2SIR features the largest number of intarsia feeders available. Maximum knitting speed of 1.4 meters per second in combination with the new R2CARRIAGE System, which is said to achieve quicker carriage returns after each course, dramatically improves efficiency and productivity in intarsia production.

Previously, programming for knitting with so many intarsia carriers would have been overwhelming, but that issue is solved with the latest automatic yarn carrier setting software on SDS-ONE APEX3 design system, the company reports.

SVR122-SV 5G

Developed as the new industry standard for computerized shaped knitting, SVR122 is Shima Seiki’s latest model workhorse machine. High productivity is achieved with a maximum knitting speed of 1.4 meters per second, as well as with the R2CARRIAGE System that achieves quicker carriage returns.

SVR122 features the latest Shima Seiki technology, such as DSCS Digital Stitch Control System, full-time spring-loaded sinker system, stitch presser, yarn gripper and cutter and takedown comb among others.

SSR112-SV 7G

Shima Seiki’s most popular model, SSR112, is designed to offer high productivity at an affordable price. High productivity is achieved with a maximum knitting speed of 1.2 meters per second, as well as with the R2CARRIAGE System.

SSR112 also features a DSCS Digital Stitch Control System; full-time spring-loaded sinker system; stitch presser; yarn gripper and cutter; takedown comb; and more.

SCG122SN 3G

With Shima Seiki’s SlideNeedle, spring-type sinker system and double racking mechanism, the SCG122SN coarse gauge specialty machine can produce bold and interesting designs with the feel associated with hand-knit garments. The 3G machine is capable of producing gauge-free fabrics with texture in the 2G~4G range. The optional i-DSCS+DTC Digital Stitch Control System with Intelligence and Dynamic Tension Control can handle thicker and heavier yarns while preventing sag, and difficult-to-knit fancy yarns can be knit with consistent quality.

SDS-ONE APEX3

An all-in-one 3D design system that supports all aspects of fashion design and production, SDS-ONE APEX3 is at the core of Shima Seiki’s Total Knitting System and Total Fashion System concepts, allowing smooth workflow from planning, design and programming to production and even sales promotion. APEX 3 is also said to improve on the planning process through photo-realistic simulation capability, effectively reducing time, material and cost from the sampling process with Virtual Sampling in 3D.
