FIMAST opens its doors to hosiery industry
26th September 2012, Brescia
Brescia and its surrounding area has always been one of the most important manufacturing centres for hosiery and sock manufacturing machinery as well as home to many internationally renowned producers of socks and hosiery.
Accordingly, today, FIMAST (International Textile Machinery and Accessories Trade Show) opens its doors to the trade where it hopes to prove that the Italian and European hosiery machine building industry is still a dynamic force to be reckoned with and that the Brescia based exhibition is a viable and desirable alternative to FAST which ceased to exist after it was last held in 2005.
FIMAST is a specialised trade fair being held at the Fiera di Brescia (Brescia Trade Fair) which has a particular emphasis on technologies for the production of socks and hosiery. Organisers say that FIMAST means living close to new trends, new markets and world leading specialists in the field for four days.
“The exhibition will showcase the most important machinery production of this particular field, worldwide recognized as the most advanced, versatile and reliable,” the organisers say.

Every visitor registered before the exhibition or at the entrance will be given a ticket with a QR code to be read by any IPhone or IPad,” FIMAST organisers said.
“Every time a visitor enters your stand, you will be able to download all his/her data reading the QR code with your IPhone or IPad. In this way you have a data base of visitors at disposal and you will be able to receive an update of the four days of the exhibition at the end of FIMAST. It is very simple. The app is available for the download on Apple Store.”
