Following the recent acquisition of Benninger’s weaving
preparation operations, Karl Mayer has quickly set about the task of
integration.
For many years now,
Germany and Switzerland have been at the centre of first-class warp preparation
technology, as represented by two companies, Karl Mayer in Obertshausen and
Benninger in Uzwil.

The software solution for warp beam management
With the ProFab beammanager TEXION has developed a module
that offers comprehensive, convenient management functions for facilitating the
management of warp beams and sectional beams. It helps to keep track of the
yarns being available on stock and offers sophisticated functions for arranging
warp beams and assigning them to selected machines. The characteristics of each
individual beam are deposited in the ProFab database from where they are

tricot and technical textiles
Knitted fabrics are
used above all in the manufacture of outer garments such as leisure clothes or
sportswear. The area of industrial textiles, which nowadays accounts for around
40% of total production, is also proving to be a highly interesting segment of
the market.
While lace and openwork fabrics are used largely on outer
garments, accessories and in home textiles, the range of applications of
industrial textiles is virtually unlimited.
The versatile program ProCad velours assists the designer in
the development process without restricting him in any way. The designer is
absolutely free to try out his creative ideas. Up to 64 yarn types are
simultaneously available, and colors can be varied in an unlimited number of
shades. With ProCad velours, the designer is able to modify pattern notations
graphically or by entering chain links numerically. Due to the program’s
integrated calculation algorithms, changes to the design a

textures in close-up
The display and evaluation of three-dimensional textures at
the development stage is made possible by ProCad warpknit 3D, the
ground-breaking latest addition to ourtried-and-tested ProCad product family.
Through rotation and zooming, even the smallest detail of these intricate three-dimensional
images is made available for close examination.
Technically sophisticated algorithms enable realistic

pre-boom period
The period of heavy investment in most
textile machinery segments between 2003 and 2007 came to an abrupt end in 2008.
All textile machinery segments recorded lower shipments in the range of -3% to
