ITM 2009 International Textile Machinery Exhibition is to be held on 6-10 June 2009 at Beylikduzu Tuyap Fair, Convention and Congress Centre in Istanbul, Turkey. The exhibition is being organized with the cooperation of Teknik Ltd and Tuyap, who say that the exhibition is set to give a lift to the textile industry.

ITM 2009, which is the dedicated textile machinery exhibition for the region, will host a wide range of textile machinery technologies.  Teknik Ltd and Tuyap collaborate on various exhibitions and the International Knitting, Embroidery, Hosiery Machineries, Spare parts and Accessories Exhibition will also be held under the same roof as ITM 2009. Consequently, for the first time hosiery machineries will be exhibited at ITM.

Organisers say that ITM 2009 is of great importance for the industry in order to help it understand the global changes taking place in the industry due to the current global economic recession. “It is predicted that the global recession which started in September 2007 will end in the first half of 2009. In that sense ITM 2009 is interpreted as a starting point for investments in the textile industry.” A spokesperson said.

The organisers also say that Turkish textiles manufacturers, who have postponed their investment plans, will finalize their decisions after observing the latest technologies at ITM 2009 and that they are very excited about the prospects at ITM 2009.

“Middle East investors, who have started to increase their investment volumes in the recent years, will be at ITM 2009 in order to direct their investment plans as well. Middle East countries, who continued to invest even under the recession period, will be present at ITM 2009 as they were not able to visit industrial shows in Europe and Far East. “The organisers said.

Turkey is one of the world largest importers of textile machinery and ITM 2006, attracted 1200 visitors and over 70,000 visitors. 880 exhibitors participated in ITM 2004, which attracted over 60,000 visitors.
