Lines in the Charleston style of the Golden 20s, shades in the Flower Power look of the 60s and 70s, and the comfort design of modern, functional clothing make it possible to produce an outfit in futuristic style with a hint of yesterday.

Fringes form the main design element of the clothing to promote feelings of wellbeing and elegance. They bring the silhouette in line, offer what is underneath the opportunity to show it, and have something to offer even when it comes to comfort. Lightweight, transparent and completely loose, the airy embellishments cover without constricting, let the skin breathe, and are not at all boring.

In the red beach tunics the fringes run freely downwards whereas, in the top section, linked with V-shaped inserts, they effectively show off the bikini or shirt underneath to advantage. The compact central section is formed using a discreet pattern formed from interlaced ovals with wide contours.

The geometrical design on a close-mesh net ground is repeated in the top section of the orange-coloured dress. The outfit with the original tasselled belt consists of a long tubular textile with differently designed segments following in sequence. The first part has a compact design, lies next to the skin, and changes over into an area of mixed design which is turned outwards on the right side.

This results in a top section with the aforementioned oval patterning, followed by a plain structure and a dress section comprising extravagant longitudinal webs which rotate outwards at the seam and are horizontally fixed in the middle by a plain broad band. Just like the whole collection featured here, the section is produced in one piece, from the tassels in the belt to the loops for fastening it.

The wide range of styles is completed by the blue stretch dress with a pattern based on oriental decorations which related to the outfits worn by the staff on the Karl Mayer stand at ITMA Asia + CITME 2010.

The seamless chic clothing was produced on the DJ 4/2 EL Seamless Smart machine. For this purpose the compact double needle bar raschel machine operated in E 24 gauge and transposed the versatile 'piece design' using the jacquard bars. However, says Karl Mayer, the finished garment is not only pleasing to the eye, but also impresses because of its pleasantly soft handles and great freedom of movement.
