26 October 2009, Chemnitz ”“ Karl Mayer subsidiary, Karl Mayer Malimo is eyeing Chinese wind power markets and will exhibit its wind power industry solutions at the Asia Wind Power 2009 exhibition from 12 to 13 November in Shanghai, China.

Karl Mayer Malimo has been successful in supplying a range of technological solutions for producing a wide range of technical textile structures for new areas of application. The products manufactured on the company’s multiaxial machines are no longer new but they are highly sophisticated technically and have become firmly established in the wind power market.

Multiaxial fabrics can be produced from high-performance fibres, such as carbon, glass and aramid and Karl Mayer Malimo says that there is an extremely high demand for multiaxial constructions bonded by thermosetting or thermoplastic agents in the light engineering sector. The company says that manufacturers of rotor blades in particular have been profiting from using these reinforcing textiles, which are extremely reliable and economical to produce.

In order to meet the growing demand, Karl Mayer has recently optimised its machine technology by developing the Malitronic Multiaxial machine, where the main emphasis in developing this new, high-tech machine was to further increase efficiency and improve the accuracy of all the operating sequences, the user friendliness and the flexibility. Axel Wintermeyer, Head of Sales, will give details of the improvements that have been implemented in a paper to be presented at the conference which is being held to coincide with the Asia Wind Power 2009 exhibition. Karl Mayer has supported the event as a silver sponsor.
