Karl Mayer to showcase latest machinery at JEC Europe

The machines produced by both of Karl Mayer’s subsidiaries are said to be extremely versatile. © Karl Mayer For the first time, Karl Mayer, the leading textile machinery builder, will be exhibiting on its own stand at the JEC Europe Composites Show and Conference that takes place from 10-12 March in Paris.

Karl Mayer Malimo and Karl Mayer Liba will be showing their extensive expertise in the composites sector, as well as machines for producing reinforcing textiles, with the emphasis on carbon applications.

Processing machinery

The focus will also be on machines for processing glass, aramid and hybrid materials (e.g. carbon mixed with thermoplasts) based on yarns and rovings.

The machines produced by both of Karl Mayer’s subsidiaries are said to be extremely versatile. Based on a modular design, they can be customised to suit the requirements of the customer.

In addition to being able to process layers at different angles, the lapping can be changed locally and the stitch length or yarns layers can be altered to match the likely direction of force.

Spreading technology

Karl Mayer’s stand is also focusing on spreading technology, which can be used to homogenise virtually every type of carbon used on the market ready for further processing, the company reports.

The machines can also be used to homogenise various types of glass and aramid and to produce yarn bands having specific weights per unit area.

Unique offer

Until now, the subsidiaries used to exhibit at the JEC on the joint Saxony stand or on Bayern Innovativ’s stand.

The joint presentation of these unique machines by Karl Mayer Liba and Karl Mayer Malimo will enable visitors attending the composites fair to profit from the company’s broad and extensive knowledge in the field of producing carbon-fibre-reinforced plastics.

Every member of the exhibition team will be available to have conversations with the end-users, especially in the fields of aerospace and the automotive and wind energy sectors, as well as with customers operating in new areas.
