John Williams Textile Machinery Sales Ltd was founded in 1983 by principal John Williams, who had previously worked for the old established Leicester based dealership of Vernon Cooper Ltd for 12 years. Fortunately, many of the contacts John made during that period supported the new company and helped make it the force it is today. With an annual turnover of around £1.5 million, the company trades on all continents, supplying quality second hand knitting machinery and specialising in well known brands such as Stoll, Shima Seiki, Wildt Mellor Bromley, Bentley and MecMor.

John Williams is now assisted by the second generation of the Williams family, son David, who now has 10 years experience in the business. Like his father, David is continually making new contacts and developing new markets around the world. During his 25 years in the second hand knitting machinery business, John Williams has gained the trust of clients worldwide who have seen the company grow from humble beginnings in a 2000 square feet leased unit to their first factory of 5000 square feet on Cannock Street, to today’s impressive premises at Craven Street, Leicester, UK. The new factory offers the company an excellent showplace to display its used and rebuilt machinery.

In addition to selling used knitting machinery, the company has also found a niche in the sales of textile machinery spare parts. With so many older European machine builders no longer in business, there is a demand for parts to keep these machines running. With large stocks of spare parts having been accumulated when buying used machines, John Williams Textile Machinery can now offer a comprehensive service to clients worldwide.

Used Stoll flat knitting machines

Although it is becoming more difficult to supply the older type Stoll ANVH, ANVH4M, CNCA3B, CNCA3BM and CNCA3KT machinery, buyers in certain overseas markets still seek to buy these models. The company is still offering such machines at very competitive prices whilst stocks last. The current Stoll CMS range is always interesting when good quality second hand models are required. Used Shima Seiki flat knitting machines

It is many years since John Williams Textile Machinery sold its first Shima Seiki flat machines. The first models sold in the 1980’s were SEC202FF and SEC214K1, models which still sell today into a few of the company’s overseas markets. Today the company mainly sells the following used Shima Seiki models:

SES102FF, SES122FF, SES122S, SES122CS, SES122RT, SES124FF, SES124S, SES234FF, SES234S, SES236FF and SES 236S, as well as SFJ202T and SFE202T for trims. Used Shima Seiki glove knitting machines are also offered for sale.

Other used knitting machines

In addition to its Stoll and Shima Seiki business the company also supplies Universal, Protti, Steiger and Scomar flat knitting machines. Over the years John Williams Textile Machinery has also specialised in the buying and selling of Wildt Mellor Bromley and Bentley circular garment length machines and still offers these brands today.

Although the Bentley company has been closed now for many years, the sheer volume of machines which were produced means that companies worldwide still operate Wildt and Bentley machines, ensuring the demand for both machinery, spare parts and elements, which the company stocks for your needs. During the last few years the company has also introduced Jumberca and MecMor to its second hand machinery range.
