Lenzing to get new Chairman

Lenzing AG will propose Peter Untersperger as Chairman of its Management Board. The supervisory board announced today that they will propose Peter Untersperger as their new chairman as of 1 January 2009 to the company's management board. Untersperger currently is head of finance and will succeed Thomas Fahnemann, who is to join RHI AG. Lenzing AG will propose Peter Untersperger as Chairman of its Management Board. The supervisory board announced today that they will propose Peter Untersperger as their new chairman as of 1 January 2009 to the company's management board. Untersperger currently is head of finance and will succeed Thomas Fahnemann, who is to join RHI AG.

Friedrich Weninger, who is currently is head of Lenzing’s Textile Fibers business unit, the company's biggest business sector, is to become a member of the Management Board at the same time and Fritz Weninger  is to become new member of the board. The new management board of Lenzing AG will therefore consist of Peter Untersperger (Chairman), Christian Reisinger and Friedrich Weninger.

The chairman of Lenzing AG's supervisory board, Hermann Bell is pleased with the fact that a successor has been found so quickly. "Lenzing AG is fortunate to have a large number of excellent top managers. Therefore Thomas Fahnemann's position could quickly be filled with somebody from inside the company. This solution, moreover, underlines continuity in the company's top management. We are convinced that the new management team of Lenzing AG will continue to lead the company to further success and future growth“.
