Memminger-IRO, the leading provider of advanced knitting technology, presents its latest innovations at the ITMA trade fair that started in Milan this week, welcoming a record number of exhibitors.

The provider of the cutting-edge processing technology, control systems and lubrication technology for knitting machines will exhibit its newest products, including an MSF 3 ATC storage feeder, a PROMOFEED electronic yarn feeder, a fabric scanner KNIT SCAN, and YTM, a digital yarn tension meter.

MSF 3 ATC

The MSF 3 ATC storage feeder is based on the MSF 3 CAN with 57V DC and is fitted with the Active Tension Control (ATC) sensor for controlling yarn tension. Used together with the GTN controller unit it enables central setting of the yarn tension on single units, groups of units or on all the units together, the company reports.

The control system is said to ensure that the yarn tension at the yarn outlet of the MSF 3 ATC is not influenced by external factors, such as the bobbin size or the yarn quality, and maintains the preset values at all times. An additional feature is the yarn length measuring function already present in the GTN unit for the MSF 3 CAN and for the positive feeders mounted on the knitting machine.

The measuring and setting of the yarn tension at the feeder during setting up the fabric quality is no more necessary. There is also no need of checking the yarn tension during the knitting process or when changing the bobbins.

PROMOFEED

PROMOFEED is the next generation of yarn-tension-controlled feeders for feeding elastic and non-elastic yarns on seamless-, hosiery-, socks-, flat knitting- and large diameter circular knitting machines. It is the latest version of the company’s tension controlled yarn feeding devices.

Thanks to the high dynamic motor in combination with the latest yarn sensor technology, nearly all kind of yarns that are applied for fashion or technical fabrics can be processed. Yarn tension range is from 0.5cN to 100cN.

The unit is simple in installation and operation. PROMOFFED can be operated for simple applications in the so called simple mode. For more complex applications, an advanced mode is available. This is said to ensure a simple handling of the unit, which supports the correct operation and therefore a high acceptance of the knitting machine operator.

KNIT SCAN

The fabric scanner KNIT SCAN is a contactless system that is said to lead to a huge reduction of second-grade fabric caused by broken needles on large diameter circular knitting machines.

The unit is self-adjusting to the fabric and therefore very easy in handling and operating, according to the manufacturer. Due to the fact that the scanner head does not touch the fabric, sensitive fabric qualities can also be detected.

YTM

The YTM is a digital high precision yarn tension meter for an easy way to measure the actual yarn tension of any knitting system. In an extended mode it can display the average and peak tension of the measurements.

It features a portable unit to measure yarn tension of any knitting system and is said to provide a high precision even for elastane yarns, an automatic zero calibration before measuring, an easy handling with only one button, and an average and peak function.
