Shima Seiki Italia, an Italian subsidiary of a leading Japanese computerised knitting machine manufacturer, will hold a private exhibition at its Carpi office next month, following its successful show at its office and showroom in Segrate, Milan, this March.

The exhibition that aims to provide the most technologically advanced offering will be a showcase of the company's diverse line-up of computerised flat knitting machines covering all aspects of knit manufacturing.

Setting the industry benchmark

The exhibition will feature the flagship MACH2X series with SlideNeedles mounted on four needlebeds, as well as the new products, such as the compact SWG-N2 series Wholegarment knitting machine for industrial textiles.

The ultrafine gauge SWG-FIRST series with 21G capability – the finest gauge in flat knitting, according to the manufacturer, and the MACH2SIR with the highest possible number of intarsia carriers, will also be presented.

The comprehensive line-up will also include the SRY123LP with loop pressers that produce unprecedented knitwear with woven textures and the new SVR workhorse series that claims to reset the industry benchmark for shaping machines, the company reports.

Improved planning process

Demonstrations will also be performed on Shima Seiki's SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system that is at the core of the company's Total Knitting System concept.

With comprehensive support of all aspects throughout the knit supply chain, APEX3 integrates knit production into one efficient workflow from yarn development, product planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion, according to Shima Seiki.

Especially effective is said to be the machine’s capability to improve on the planning process with Virtual Sampling. Photo-realistic simulation capability is designed to minimise the need for sample-making, effectively reducing time, material and cost from the sampling process.
