remain confident about the long-term prospects of the textile industry in Asia,
especially China. They have given the show owners of ITMA ASIA + CITME 2010 a
vote of confidence by signing up for space in the second combined show.
Although application
forms were only issued last month (the deadline for submission is September),
show owners CEMATEX and its Chinese partners - the Sub-Council of Textile
...and for its next edition (15-18 September 2009),
dedicated to the autumn winter 2010-11 season, a series of initiatives for both
exhibitors and visitors.
Nearly 700 exhibitors from 31 countries
have already announced their participation in the September 2009 session, thus
confirming the uncontested leadership of Première Vision: the single most
effective tool for the fashion textile industry, a place for both business and
the discovery of new products.

The creative flair and design talent of graduating
students from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)'s Institute of
Textiles and Clothing (ITC) have won big rounds of applause from the industry
at their Knitwear Fashion Show held today at The Mira Hong Kong.

The decline of the global economy has
massively affected the world fibre industry and the sales and financial results
of the Lenzing Group for the first quarter of 2009 reflect this. In comparison
to last year’s first quarter, consolidated quarterly sales dropped by 18.1%,
