Huber has launched  a new ‘Pure Ocean’ underwear collection featuring the innovative Tencel C fibre. The collection, made from Tencel, Tencel C and elastane, features shirts with short and long sleeves, Brasil slips, short and long pants.

First presented by Lenzing two years ago, Tencel C is a result of the company’s attempt to combine cosmetic properties with the well-known skin-sensory advantages of its Tencel fibre.

Tencel C fibre

The Tencel C fibre is made from the raw material, wood, and is said to have positive skin properties. The ‘C’ stands for a chitosan skin complex which is made from crustacean shells and frequently used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.

“After many years of research work, Lenzing has succeeded in soaking a fibre with the biopolymer Chitosan and in transferring this to large-scale production. Chitosan is difficult to control at production level. It is water-soluble and after several processing steps, it can dissipate from the fibre. The research scientists at Lenzing developed a special technology to prevent this," Lenzing said.

According to Lenzing, both of these raw materials are natural and complement each other in an ideal manner. Following the medical tests, Tencel C is also said to prevent the loss of the skin’s moisture, increase the elasticity of the skin and promote the cell renewal.
