Comez acquired by Jakob Müller

Italian narrow fabrics machine manufacturer Comez, best known for its crochet machines, has been acquired by Swiss competitor Jakob Müller.

In a statement on its website last week, the Swiss company said:

“We are pleased to inform you that Jakob Müller AG Frick and Comez Gestioni S.p.A. combine business activities in the field of knitting and crochet machines, effective as of October 8.”

“The brand Comez, the Comez machine portfolio and the very good Comez quality and services will remain unchanged to continuously provide you with advanced knitting solutions. Due to the combined strengths of Jakob Müller and Comez, we believe to enhance our product portfolio and services to serve your needs in an excellent way.”

According to Jakob Müller, Comez will operate as of October 8th 2012 under the name Comez International s.r.l. as a member of the Jakob Müller Group. Mr. Paolo Banfi will continue to represent Comez internationally as the General Manager.

“All activities of the Jakob Müller Group, other than the crochet and knitting segment, will remain unchanged,” the statement said.

The name Comez is well known in the field narrow fabrics with the company making crochet knitting machines, needle looms and double needle bar warp knitting machines. With 90% of its turnover generated by exports, Comez boasts tens of thousands of machines installed all over the world.
