Bangladeshi knitwear manufacturer to invest US$ 5m in new factory

According to a report in The New Nation yesterday, Bangladeshi knitwear manufacturer Sun Yad Knitwear Limited, is to set up a garment manufacturing facility in the Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ). According to a report in The New Nation yesterday, Bangladeshi knitwear manufacturer Sun Yad Knitwear Limited, is to set up a garment manufacturing facility in the Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ).

The company will invest US$ 5.132 million to set up their plant and produce garments creating employment opportunity for 1995 Bangladeshi nationals. An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the Sun Yad Knitwear in the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka yesterday.

Md. Farhad Uddin, member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Monir Ahmed, Managing Director of Sun Yad Knitwear, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Brig Gen Jamil Ahmed Khan, executive chairman of BEPZA, and other officials from the respective organizations were present on the occasion.
