The start-up Breddy's has been producing crossover trousers since 2015. Founded by Claus Bretschneider and his wife Manuela Bretschneider, the brand aims to combine the advantages of functional materials with a chic touch of fashionable pants that are cut in different styles and can be worn every day.

According to the company, with its innovative product, the start-up contributes to setting the athleisure trend, combining sport and leisure, as recognised by the international ISPO jury. As the ISPO Brandnew prize holder, the brand Breddy's will have the opportunity to introduce itself at the ISPO Brandnew Village, a special sector of the trade fair, which takes place from 5-8 February in Munich.

“We are very pleased that our product has been so well received and understood by our customers. The idea originates from my wife and myself and we have now opened the crossover trousers segment. There is currently nothing comparable on the European market. Considering our personal commitment to this project and how we are aware of having realized an outstanding product, we are very excited about the ISPO Brandnew Award,” commented Claus Bretschneider, CEO of Breddy's.

Sustainability as a production asset

Breddy's Crossover pants are produced 100% in Europe in a sustainable and resource-conserving manner, the company reports. Raw materials are of European origin. For this purpose, Breddy's cooperates with other family businesses respectively in Italy, Sweden and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In particular, Breddy's has chosen to employ fabrics made with EVO, the innovative bio-based yarn developed by Fulgar. EVO manufacture is supported by the cultivation of castor oil seeds that grow in arid regions not suited to other forms of agriculture. The biopolymer that forms the basic constituent of EVO by Fulgar is said to have no adverse impact on the human food chain, unlike many other bio-based polymers that use natural products otherwise destined for the food and agriculture, the company reports.

Functional pants

With its Breddy’s crossover pants, Breddy’s offers a garment suitable for any occasion. Fashionable and functional, these trousers can be worn during any day-to-day activity, from riding your bike, working at the office or hiking. The use of outdoor materials is said to ensure a special wearing-comfort and combine several functions. These trousers are, among other things, water- and dirt-repellent, as well as temperature-regulating, according to the manufacturer. At the same time, Breddy's crossover trousers can be machine-washed and dry very quickly.

The target audience are sportspeople, active people in their profession and in their free time, who want a comfortable and high-quality pair of trousers that they can wear in every situation.

The Crossover pants are directly available at the Breddy's store in Mödling, Austria, and Breddy`s webstore. They are also on sale through selected retail partners and online stores.
