The fifth edition of the BSTIM textiles and apparel trade fair, that was scheduled for February 2021 in Igualada, Catalonia, Spain, has been postponed until next autumn, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Organizers from Fira d’Igualada and Tèxtil FAGEPI group hope that the decision “will enable the fair to be celebrated in a more normal context that should permit the attendance of international buyers”. This would not be possible in February owing to the restrictions of the present health crisis, they say.

BSTIM (Best Solutions in Textile Manufacturing) is the only trade show for textiles production in Spain. It started in 2015 in Igualada, a Catalan town known particularly for its knitted textiles, with the purpose of strengthening the textile production of proximity.

BSTIM has been held four times, taking place every other year. Among the exhibitors are knitting companies and Catalan dressmaking workshops, as well as producers from elsewhere in Spain. Visitors are mainly buyers from international brands, big distributors and designers interested in finding new suppliers. The last edition celebrated in March 2019 gathered a thousand visitors over the two days it took place.

Fira d’Igualada and Agrupació Tèxtil FAGEPI, organizers of the fair with the support of Igualada ́s Council, say they look forward to being able to establish new dates in the calendar depending on the evolution of the present pandemic.
