Italian company Coatyarn srl, a manufacturer of industrial coated yarns, has launched a range of filter protection facemasks called Evolution Mask, using its TPU Evolution thermoplastic polyurethane yarns. The masks also incorporate a high-performance bacteriostatic polyamide 6.6 by Fulgar.

Evolution Mask is said to have high breathability, is absorbent, and repels sweat and excess heat, thanks to the characteristics of TPU Evolution and Fulgar yarns. It is also soft to the touch.

According to Coatyarn, Evolution Mask has permanent odour control being both antimicrobial and antibacterial thanks its polymeric matrix with silver ions production technology.

Evolution Mask is three-dimensionally knitted on flat knitting machines. Consequently, the company says, the mask is comfortable thanks to its shape, which promotes breathing and makes it gently adaptable to the face without any contact with the mouth. The mask is free of wires and can be easily adjusted with elastics behind the ears or behind the neck.

“Evolution Mask is reusable and guaranteed to withstand over 100 machine washes at 60° C, even with bleach, keeping its antibacterial, dimensional and colour characteristics unchanged. The absence of migration of silver fillers from the thread to the skin avoids the onset of ‘non-leaching technology’ allergies,” Coatyarn explains.
