Nilit, a leading manufacturer and marketer of nylon textile fibres, introduces the newest styling product Diamond, which conjures up a sparkling shimmer effect on fine fabrics thanks to its special fibre cross-section and composition.

The company will present its latest products, including two very special trend innovations, selected by the Performance Days jury for the Performance Forum, from Swiss textile leader Schoeller and Italian fabric expert Pontetorto, at this week’s Performance Days in Munich.

“We are honoured that the Performance Days jury has recognized the work of our fabric partners Schoeller and Pontetorto,” said Christiane Rauch, Nilit Senior Marketing Consultant. “These innovative mills have used Sensil in intelligent ways to create beautiful fabrics for performance applications that will set new standards in our market.”

Schoeller’s fabric with Sensil Heat

Schoeller’s new Schoeller Fabric Art. 67 322, weighing 365 g/m2 and equipped with Sensil Heat for warming performance, was selected for the Outer Layer category of the Forum. The woven, soft shell fabric is a composition of 96% nylon/4% elastane, slightly brushed on the inside, wind- and water- repellent on the outside thanks to Schoeller’s Ecorepel technology. The fabric provides four-way stretch, moisture management, light thermal insulation and is bluesign tested.

The environmentally friendly Sensil Heat fibre contained in fabric is made from charcoal extracted from the shell residues of coffee beans. Laboratory tests have shown that Sensil Heat retains body heat while transporting moisture away from the body and neutralising unpleasant odours, the company explains. Wearers are kept warm and comfortable thanks to the specially-developed technology that integrates coffee carbon and oxide additive permanently into the fibre. This fabric with Sensil Heat is perfect for active wear, sportswear and outerwear, the company adds.

Glowing reviews

Pontetorto received “glowing reviews” of its new knitted fabric Pontetorto Fabric Art. 8979, made by incorporating Sensil ‘s Diamond yarn on the inside as a filigree terry cloth with “an exceptional sparkle”. The Diamond yarn’s special cross section gives it a light, bi-coloured luxuriously shimmering melange effect with a 3D appearance. The 303 g/m2 lightweight knitted fabric made of 95% nylon, 5% elastane can be seen in the Performance Forum’s Second Layer category. It is ideal for activewear and athleisure apparel.

At the Nilit booth, Christiane Rauch and the rest of the Nilit team will present the many fabrics made with Sensil Premium Performance Nylon 6.6, including Liebeart’s newest Nanostich fabrics with Sensil Breeze, products from Lemar with Sensil Ecocare recycled nylon, woven stretch fabrics from Getzner with Sensil Breeze, Sensil Heat, Sensil Aquarius and Sensil Innergy, and Ripa’s Crystal collection created with Sensil Diamond.

Sensil

“Today’s consumers are changing their attitudes towards apparel, expecting their wardrobes to be as versatile and multitasking as they are. They want their technical sports apparel to have exceptional performance characteristics along with style and comfort,” the company reports. “They want their leisure and work clothes to have functional benefits.”

In response to changing consumer demands, Nilit launched its Sensil brand of premium performance Nylon 6.6 a year ago. Whether it's the cooling effect of Sensil Breeze, the moisture-conducting properties of Sensil Aquarius, the energizing benefits of Sensil Innergy or the warming functions of Sensil Heat, the Sensil portfolio has the masterfully created intelligent fibres needed to create the most beautiful, durable and high-quality performance fabrics.
