General forum

Interfilière will showcase the Spring/Summer 2018 trends and a preview of Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 in a general forum Whisperings. Events at the General Forum will be animated by Jessica Haughton, a selection of European embroiderers, the exhibitor Eastman, and Kathryn Kemp-Griffin, a Canadian journalist.

Jessica Haughton, a young graduate from Trent University, gained attention during Graduate Fashion Week in London. She'll present a collection based on her end-of-year fashion show with 3D printed lingerie pieces combining a lightweight knit with transparent silicone.

Eastman, a US manufacturer of cellulosic yarn, will be introducing its new brand to the intimate apparel market. The new brand’s story and its showpiece knit will be revealed during the vernissage of the Forum. Finally, the event will host a première book launch for "Paris Undressed: The Secrets of French Lingerie by author Kathryn Kemp-Griffin, who will be at the General Forum opening event to sign books.

Exception session

This session will give pride of place to ultra-light and ultra-fine materials. The Exception area at Interfilière Paris offers visitors solutions provided by fabric specialists, embroidery companies, lace makers and accessories manufacturers to demonstrate their most exceptional technical and creative research.

The space displays images, innovative designer garments, objects and future-oriented materials, expressing the lightness of movement, of colour, materials and hand-made details. The experimental hotbed will surprise thanks to the impact of bio-technologies, satisfy the requirements of mobility and performance, analyse the advantages of the cloud and nanotechnologies, as well as exploring the benefits of frivolity, laughter, movement and games of seduction.

Among the companies present in the space will be Boselli, a 100% made in Italy brand and a "2017 Designer of the year, lingerie category". Founded in 1898 by the great-grandfather Enrico Boselli, the company initially specialised in silk. Today Boselli is a leader for high-performance wovens in the lingerie, athletic, sport, ready-to-wear, and home furnishing markets.

Conferences

The show includes a programme of conferences. Exploring trends and news from the market, the conferences offer an opportunity to learn about the latest current issues and market developments and discuss them with colleagues.

A conference dedicated to extreme lightness, thinness and softness will take place on Monday, 23  January, led by Dominique Demoinet – DLD Consulting.
