SPINEXO, in collaboration with Studio Eva x Carola are presenting Techtiles, a project inspired by the SPINEXPO In Between theme. This project is a collaboration with the renowned knitting machinery manufacturer Santoni Shanghai and innovative spinners like UPW, Sudwolle, Esquel, Huayuan, Longrun, Shilead, Wuxi Yusheng Yarn and Xinnuo.
This is the fifth trend from SPINEXPO Spring/Summer 2020, and it focuses on the newest innovations influencing yarns and textiles from the fields of technology and the medical industry. Studio Eva X Carola created new innovations by taking a closer look at three different product applications: apparel, industrial and medical.
For example, using elements from the medical and surgical fields means we can create products with anti-bacterial, non-toxic and hypo-allergenic properties with an overall aim to reframe imagination by healing, shielding and conserving the body.
As a protective function, textiles require physical strength, durability, while being lightweight and adaptable. “For different end uses and by combining several machinery, yarns and industry applications we created a series of materials aimed to give these benefits,” organisers of SPINEXPO explain.
This spring’s edition of SPINEXPO Shanghai, a trade fair dedicated to promoting innovation in the yarn, fibre and knitwear industry, will take place from 5-7 March in Pudong, Shanghai, featuring the Spring/Summer 2020 trends and new ideas.
