Welcome to Shima Seiki’s KNIT VISIONS. This issue features the Japanese company’s 2020 Spring-Summer collection along with interactive digital content. Here are some of the elements that make up this issue, which can be downloaded in full at the foot of this article.
The leading international textile machinery exhibition ITMA, took place in June this year in Barcelona, Spain, where Shima Seiki showed a new line-up of knitting machines and design systems. This issue of KNIT VISIONS shows many knitted items that were being produced on Shima machines at the company’s booth during the exhibition.
Smart & Functional
Recent innovations in flat knitting machinery now allow a much wider range of applications besides fashion. Smart textiles and other functional, wearable technology permit new uses in the sports, medical and other technical textiles fields.
Sporty basics are complemented by delicate features such as lace and airy frills resulting in an active yet feminine collection – a crossover between sport and couture for the modern urban active woman.
This issue of KNIT VISIONS also contains content from Shima’s staf web service that supports planning and design in the fashion industry. It features various data content that can be used with the company’s SDS-ONE APEX series and enables faster product development. Both actual knitted and Virtual samples are shown.
WHOLEGARMENT knitted jackets offer an alternative to traditional woven jackets, featuring far greater comfort and fit.
Denim like knitwear enhances the wearer experience with superior fit, comfort and stretch that can otherwise only be obtained by a well-worn pair of jeans.
