Leading computerised flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki, has launched a new portal site called Shima Seiki Online Services, or Shima online for short, which collectively introduces the Japanese company’s range of web-based services for designers, manufacturers and fashion brands. The brand-new portal was showcased for the first time at the ITMA 2019 textiles machinery exhibition in Barcelona last month.

Taking advantage of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the company supports its users in all stages of the product supply chain through various web-based services, ranging from fashion trend information and archive of knit samples to production management and training support.
