Hyosung TNC’s Fashion Design Center (FDC) has unveiled its Spring-Summer 2027 Textile Trend report, spotlighting three mega trends that will shape apparel collections: Blue Wellness, Climate Resilience, and Modern Retro.
Blue Wellness reflects the growing shift from travel-based escapes to everyday recovery practices, with water as a central medium for restoration. Rooftop pool soaks, outdoor swimming, and cold plunge therapy are becoming integral to daily wellbeing as climate stress and city living drive demand for water-based rituals.
Climate Resilience highlights consumers’ proactive adaptation to climate change through lifestyle changes, sustainable practices, and technology. Concepts such as ‘coolcationing,’ temperature-regulating textiles, and circular production models underscore how resilience is reshaping both behaviour and apparel design.
Modern Retro continues to grow as a cultural and fashion movement, blending nostalgic 80s, 90s, and early 2000s influences with modern aesthetics. Social media has amplified this revival, driving demand for retro sportswear, preppy styling, and updated vintage silhouettes.
With these insights, Hyosung forecasts themes across apparel segments, featuring its Creora spandex and regen recycled and bio-based fibres. Active and outdoor wear will emphasise cooling, retro sportif looks, and versatile swimwear. Lounge and intimate wear will focus on elevated comfort, lightweight knits, and fabrics delivering cooling sensations.
Full details of SS27 textile trends will be released through FDC’s weekly Trend Byte series on the Hyosung Performance Textiles Creativity Inspired blog.
