At the heart of the upcoming Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition, the Intertextile Directions Trend Forum, themed Push Sensation, will ignite a fresh narrative for Autumn / Winter 2026-27. From 2 to 4 September 2025 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the NellyRodi Agency, a member of the Intertextile Directions Trend Committee, will bring this vision to life through an inspiring showcase of on-trend fabrics.

The Push Sensation theme embodies the modern desire for intense, unforgettable experiences, encouraging a break from the ordinary in favour of authenticity, adventure, and fantastical possibilities. This year, the forum will explore four defining trends: gentle > raw, classic > theatrical, childish > bizarre, and pragmatic > dreamlike.

The gentle > raw theme reconnects with nature, blending soft elegance with handmade imperfection. Sustainability is key, using plant-based dyes, upcycled materials, mineral hues and bright pigments. Organic brushed mohair, vegetal dyes, double-sided suede, and artisanal handloomed pieces highlight the trend’s earthy spirit.

classic > theatrical transforms the familiar into the dramatic, combining timeless materials like tweed and Shetland wool with bold, luxurious alternatives. Expect lasered fabrics, lustrous leathers, and expressive jacquards, alongside retro geometrics and ornate florals that challenge convention and celebrate individuality.

childish > bizarre fuses playful mid-century modernism with cultural psychedelia. Soft, joyful pastels collide with bold tones in faux furs, fluffy wools, bio-sourced vinyl, hand-knits, and crochet. Cartoonish motifs, psychedelic prints, and bold geometrics create a vibrant escape into carefree self-expression.

pragmatic > dreamlike merges tailored sophistication with futuristic innovation. Cosmic darks and diaphanous pales, silver metallics, and tech-infused fabrics such as iridescent satin, translucent chiffon, and high-tech down fill present a visionary blend of structure and dreamlike beauty.

The Intertextile Directions Trend Forum is curated by experts from Doneger | Tobe (New York), NellyRodi Agency (Paris), Elementi Moda (Milan), and Sachiko Inoue (Tokyo). It will showcase fabrics and accessories from exhibitors worldwide, defining the season’s narratives.

Exhibitors interested in featuring their collections at the Trend Forum can apply now.
