Schoeller owned Eschler Textil will showcase its wide range of warp knitted products alongside new developments in  areas such as medical, 3D and velcro textiles at this week’s Techtextil trade fair for technical textiles in Frankfurt. Specialising in warp-knitted high-tech textiles, Eschler has been  regarded as a competent partner in  the  innovative development of fabrics for technical uses for many years. By combining different knitting technologies, Eschler provides a wide product range from two-dimensional qualities like velours, nets, elastic warp knitted fabrics and loop-pile products up to the three-dimensional area, innovative spacer fabrics.

3D textiles

One of the Eschler products on show will be a range of  3D fabrics with different structures on the two outer sides as well as inside. The connecting yarns between the two outer faces, can be discontinued at defined places, so that components or ventilation ducts can be inserted according to the field of application.

In developments concerning the use of conductive yarns inside the 3D-construction, Eschler is focusing on  customised product development, starting at the prototype right up to the implementation into serial production. By employing a  CAD-supported developmental process, the company aims at simulating and evaluating the technical feasibility of ideas and different variations beforehand.

Medical and orthopaedic textiles

The Hohenstein Institute recently awarded Eschler an ‘A’ grade for the wearer  comfort of its fabrics for doctor’s clothing and ward clothing in hospitals. These are expected to provide an optimal body climate, pleasant wearing sensation and maximum comfort together with lasting durability and corresponding  economic efficiency.

By researching and developing on all levels of processing and hunting for new materials which can optimize textiles in the medical context, it was possible to devise e.g. qualities especially for doctor`s clothing and ward clothing. © Eschler

The specifically developed Eschler knit fabrics are used in orthopaedic -applications, bandaging material, wound dressings, ward clothing, cleaning textiles for hospitals, wheelchairs, bandages, ortheses and other items, used in either treatment, therapy or rehabilitation.

Velcro velours

Detachable connections that require materials tailored exactly to their use made from stable velcro fabrics have two opposites - hook and loop that repeatedly can be interlinked firmly and permanently.

According to Eschler, it is especially challenging to insure the permanent hardiness of the velour compared to the multitude of hook tapes available in the market.

Eschler range of products not only includes sturdy and durable variations with special coatings, but also bi-elastic velcro velours with a percentage  of spandex such as Lycra, for example. Working on new solutions and optimisations for velcro applications, Eschler also deals with welding of these materials and supplies tapes which are already cut specifically for the customer’s use.
