Next week, global fashion enterprises will gather in Shanghai, China, to attend the 13th edition of Shanghai International Hosiery Purchasing Expo (CHPE), which has become one of the most distinctive and influential events in the region.

According to statistics, as of February 2018, the number of sock brands and manufacturers participating in the 13th Shanghai International Hosiery Purchasing Expo has reached a record high of 438, with a growth rate of nearly 26% from last year. The organisers of CHPE stated that the core competitiveness of the fair lies in its capability of attracting nearly 10,000 professional visitors from more than 50 countries and regions at home and abroad every year.

The event has been positioned as a B2B trade show since its establishment, featuring “export orientation”, as driven by the demand of thousands of overseas buyers seeking procurement in China. Therefore, the exhibition has attracted many well-known domestic hosiery enterprises, such as Bonas, MengNa, NAIER, FENLI, Boyi, Manzi, Orient Befit, BIORUN, Eclogue, GCGOCOH, Bondgewoo, Top Circle, SACO, Yidie, and Fuchun.

Industrial power

In recent years, with the booming of domestic consumption capacity and economy, the strategy of "high-end domestic trade" has been introduced in the exhibition accordingly, which in turn will further enhance the competitiveness of the exhibition, thus helping China evolve from a large sock producer to an industrial power, organisers report.

Thanks to this strategy, Turkey Pavilion, Zhuji Datang Socks Pavilion, Northeast Socks Industry Park Pavilion, Haining Socks Pavilion, Taiwan Hosiery Manufacturers’ Association Pavilion and other domestic and foreign industrial clusters, as well as international hosiery enterprises from Japan, Spain, Pakistan, South Korea, Egypt, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, will display their premium sock products on the same platform.

Concurrent show

The 2018 Shanghai Fashion Accessories Expo (FAE) & 2018 Shanghai International Hat/Scarf/Glove Expo, to be held concurrently at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, will focus on fashion accessories to fill the gap in the domestic industry.

“Moreover, the strong alliance between CHPE and FAE will also combine two single product fairs to an industry exhibition covering multiple products. For this edition, the display area of FAE will reach 30,000 square metres, and more than 600 foreign and domestic exhibitors and more than 15,000 professional visitors from 60 countries and regions are expected to attend the event,” organisers say.

The 13th Shanghai International Hosiery Purchasing Expo (CHPE 2018) is co-organised by Shanghai Knits Apparel Accessory Trade Association, ITE Aisa Exhibition, Shanghai Gehua Exhibition Planning. and Shanghai ITE Gehua Exhibition Service.
