The upcoming July 2025 edition of Pitti Filati, taking place from 1–3 July in Florence, will debut the latest edition of Spazio Ricerca under the theme D-tale. Curated by Angelo Figus, with knit and yarn direction from Carrie Hollands and general coordination by Manuela Sandroni, the new concept signals a return to the wardrobe and the culture of dress.
This season’s Spazio Ricerca proposes a fashion philosophy rooted in restraint and awareness, placing comfort, craftsmanship, and creativity at its core. The emphasis is on meaningful construction and fabric quality, driven by a renewed appreciation for detail as both emotional and stylistic anchors. Rather than excess, the mood embraces an evolved form of elegance - refined, sensitive, and quietly expressive.
Under the D-tale umbrella, three key themes structure the visual and emotional language of the season. The first, Bluniform, reflects a quiet nobility expressed through subtle actions, soft aesthetics, and dignified restraint. Its colour story features layered shades of blue, portraying strength, grace, and integrity without ostentation.
Exoticall, the second theme, explores the allure of the unfamiliar and the inspirational power of distant cultures and untouched landscapes. It blends mental and physical journeys in a palette of lush greens, vibrant yellows, and earthen tones evoking forests, deserts, and ancient gardens.
The third theme, Caffè de Là Paix, delves into emotivity as the essence of human experience. From joyful highs to melancholic lows, this chapter highlights emotional sincerity in fashion and textiles. Its colours mirror the depths of feeling—subtle, intimate, and deeply resonant.
Together, the three narratives reframe fashion as an emotional and creative medium, reclaiming its power to uplift and connect. This edition’s setup, designed by Alessandro Moradei, supports the storytelling vision with an immersive and tactile exhibition space.
The July 2025 edition of Pitti Filati continues to position Florence as a hub of textile innovation and poetic design thinking, reinforcing Italy’s reputation for blending technical skill with expressive creativity.
