Filo has launched the latest edition of its product development proposals for the 64th edition of the yarns and fibres exhibition with the release of Vice-Versa, a new video curated by fabric designer Rossano Bisio. Now available on the exhibition’s website, the film offers an in-depth preview of the creative and technical direction guiding the upcoming September event.

Paolo Monfermoso, manager of Filo, remarked: “The online release of the product development proposals has always been a key event for textile professionals. Since the last edition, we have placed increasing emphasis on the technical content of our creative work, in keeping with Filo’s essential mission: providing companies with practical ideas to support true textile innovation.”

He added that the video is not just a digital preview but a cinematic representation of the proposals - described as a “little big movie” - that will accompany the industry through to the fair. Filo64 will take place in a new venue, Hall 14 of Fiera Milano Rho, with an expanded space for creative displays, leading from the Vice-Versa proposals to exhibitors’ collections and concluding with Made in Filo, a curated collection of fabric samples.

Designer Rossano Bisio explained the inspiration behind Vice-Versa: “We aim to expand the aesthetic and functional language of textiles, offering a vision where traditional and innovative elements meet.” The concept of ‘reversal’ underpins the project, in which formalwear is fused with casual styles and avant-garde materials intersect with traditional techniques.

Bisio noted that the mixing of opposites was also expressed in yarn processing - shiny versus opaque, soft versus crêpe textures, coarse and fine counts. “It’s a narrative where the past converses with the future,” he said, referencing the project’s integration of sustainability, digital technologies, and reduced-impact production methods. The outcome is a vision of understated yet responsible elegance, grounded in material quality, craftsmanship and ethical substance.

The 64th edition of Filo will be held on 23–24 September 2025 at Fiera Milano Rho.
