Fashion for Good has endorsed Spinnova’s ambition to build a multi-stakeholder ecosystem designed to scale the company’s fibre technology innovation. The collaboration represents a further step in Spinnova’s efforts to increase the availability of sustainable fibre solutions within the global textile materials market.

Fashion for Good works to bring innovative solutions to the forefront of the fashion industry by fostering collaboration across the value chain. Acting as a hub for intelligence and experimentation, it connects disruptive innovators with brands and empowers a network of retailers, suppliers, funders and industry stakeholders to accelerate meaningful change.

Both organisations share a common vision to unite the fashion industry in building a more sustainable future. Through this collaboration, Fashion for Good will support and endorse Spinnova’s ecosystem by contributing to its development and structural design, helping to ensure effective coordination across the value chain.

Spinnova is developing a consortium model aimed at bringing textile materials made with its fibre technology to market at scale. According to the company, Fashion for Good’s global network and experience in facilitating industry collaboration will play a key role in assembling and managing this ecosystem.

Pedro Brito, senior commercial manager at Spinnova, said the support comes at a critical stage as the company works to move from innovation to broader commercial adoption. He highlighted the value of Fashion for Good’s early insights in shaping the ecosystem model and its ongoing role in coordinating partners across the fashion industry.

Katrin Ley, managing director at Fashion for Good, commented that next-generation materials require more than proven technology to succeed. She noted that coordinated ecosystem approaches are essential to build the infrastructure and capabilities needed across the value chain, adding that the consortium model being developed by Spinnova reflects this thinking.

Based in Finland, Spinnova has developed patented technology that produces textile fibre from wood pulp or various waste streams, including known industrial by-products, without the use of harmful chemicals or dissolving processes. The company’s mechanical production method generates no side streams and results in a fibre designed to have low emissions and water use, while offering the look and feel of natural cellulosic fibres.

Spinnova is listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market Finland and continues to focus on advancing its technology through partnerships and ecosystem-driven scale-up strategies.
