Discussing sustainable fashion and responsible consumption

‘Everyone has a personal sustainable project’ is the Milano Green Forum motto. For the first edition of Milano Green Forum, C.L.A.S.S., a leading platform that promotes, communicates and brings forward responsible projects for the textiles and fashion sectors, moderated the panel discussion on sustainable fashion business supply chain.

The plenary session took place on 13 September at MiCo – Milano Congressi, during the Milano Green Forum. “We wanted to invite innovators and entrepreneurs who are leading a real global green revolution in which Italy and Milan play a key role,” commented C.L.A.S.S. founder Giusy Bettoni. “The textiles industry and brands share their insights about how the sector is changing.”

“New materials, re-use and recycling, smart innovation, circular economy, global and local strategies, not a fashion offer that only lives on catwalks but one that we all wear every day. Because when we talk about sustainability, the final consumer can truly contribute to drive the change.”

Hot topic

“Today, more than ever, sustainable fashion is a hot topic. Not only in this industry, we are witnessing a sustainable change, but also transversally in all the areas that the Milano Green Forum is addressing; the goal of the plenary is to witness how different areas intersect, through sustainability,” declared Federico Manca, founder of the Milano Green Forum.

Giusy Bettoni opened a debate with Flavio Sciuccati, Senior Partner at European House Ambrosetti; Francesco Marini, Vice President at Confindustria Toscana Nord; Francesco Merlino, owner of VEGEA; Enrico Gessner, Director at ENKA italia; Kirsi Seppalainen, Vice President at Stora Enso; Andrea Rosso, founder of Myar; Annamaria Rugarli, Sustainability & Responsibility Senior Director, EMEA, at VF International; and Stefania Ricci, Director at Museo Salvatore Ferragamo.

Everyone has a personal sustainable project is the Milano Green Forum motto,” said Giusy Bettoni. “As citizens, our own project should be about responsible and aware consumption and lifestyle. Starting from the wardrobe.”
