Brazilian techwear and sustainable fashion brand Insider has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent with Finnish materials innovator Spinnova to secure access to future volumes of Spinnova fibre.

The agreement reflects the wider shift within the global fashion industry towards materials with a lower environmental impact, as brands and consumers seek performance-led products developed with greater responsibility. Next-generation cellulosic fibres and advanced textile technologies are increasingly being adopted as alternatives to virgin cotton and fossil fuel-based synthetics.

Founded in São Paulo, Insider is recognised for its technological apparel designed for comfort and durability, offering features such as sweat absorption, anti-odour performance and thermal regulation. Its garments are designed to be worn multiple times, supporting the brand’s philosophy of smart wear and reduced consumption. Insider currently works with materials including modal, lyocell and polyamide, selected for their performance and sustainability benefits.

Through the Letter of Intent, Insider becomes the first brand in Latin America to partner with Spinnova, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in sustainable innovation. The agreement provides a strategic pathway for the brand to integrate Spinnova fibre into future collections that combine technical performance with a lower environmental footprint.

For Spinnova, the agreement supports its ambition to build a wider ecosystem to enable the availability of its fibre within the textile materials market. The company’s patented technology produces textile fibre from wood pulp or waste streams without harmful chemicals or dissolving processes, resulting in a biodegradable and recyclable material with low water use and carbon emissions.

Both companies see the collaboration as an opportunity to accelerate the adoption of more sustainable materials in everyday functional apparel, aligning innovation with environmental responsibility.
