Sweaty Betty, the British activewear brand founded in London in the late 1990s and designed by women for women, has once again partnered with Italian specialist Fulgar for a selection of ten statement pieces in its Athlete collection.

Renowned for combining fashion and fitness with high-performance technical fabrics, Sweaty Betty underlines its commitment to quality and sustainability by selecting Q-Cycle, a next-generation polyamide 6.6 yarn developed by Fulgar.

Produced through a certified mass balance process, Q-Cycle is made entirely from pyrolysis oil obtained by recycling end-of-life tyres, one of the most challenging forms of waste. The yarn offers technical performance such as lightness, strength, and elasticity comparable to virgin polyamide, while ensuring a significantly lower environmental impact.

The new Athlete collection introduces seamless tanks, cropped tops, short-sleeve and long-sleeve tees. Each piece is made using Q-Cycle and features lightweight, sweat-wicking fabrics with four-way stretch, quick-drying properties, and versatile fits. Details including ribbed or mesh inserts enhance functionality and comfort for training across disciplines.

Fiona Hannam, Head of Product Technology at Sweaty Betty, said: “We always aim for the best in our collections. That’s why we chose to rely on Fulgar and its cutting-edge yarn Q-Cycle, which embodies the highest standards of quality and sustainability.”

Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar, added: “We are proud to support Sweaty Betty on its journey towards increasingly responsible collections, thanks to the potential of our yarns. We hope this will be the first step towards an even stronger collaboration.”
