Shima Seiki, alongside its Korean subsidiary Shima Seiki Korea Inc., will participate in the 26th edition of Preview in Seoul, taking place from 20th to 22nd August 2025 at COEX, Seoul.
The company will exhibit two SWG091N2 WHOLEGARMENT knitting machines in 10 and 15 gauge. Compact and versatile, these machines can produce complete knitwear items without the need for sewing or linking, including gloves, hats, socks, scarves, dog wear, smartphone covers, bags and even footwear uppers. At the exhibition, they will demonstrate sauna hat and room shoe production, highlighting capabilities in non-apparel applications.
Also on display will be the SDS-ONE APEX4 design system and the APEXFiz subscription-based software. These tools support the fashion creation process from initial planning and design through to ultra-realistic virtual sampling. The virtual sampling feature allows for accurate digital prototyping, significantly reducing the time, cost and waste of physical sampling. These virtual prototypes can also support e-commerce platforms by allowing demand testing before production begins.
By combining virtual sampling with WHOLEGARMENT technology, Shima Seiki offers a path to more sustainable, demand-driven manufacturing and inventory optimisation, aiming to digitally transform the fashion supply chain.
Shima Seiki has been a pioneer in WHOLEGARMENT technology since 1995 and currently holds over 2,900 related patents and patents pending worldwide. Its design systems are widely used to promote digital product creation across the industry.
