Gildan Activewear appoints new HR director

Gildan Activewear has appointed Russ Hagey, a Senior Partner and the Worldwide Chief Talent Officer of Bain & Company, a leading management consulting firm, to its Board of Directors that now comprises ten members.

Gildan Activewear has appointed Russ Hagey, a Senior Partner and the Worldwide Chief Talent Officer of Bain & Company, a leading management consulting firm, to its Board of Directors that now comprises ten members.

Mr Hagey joined the consulting firm in 1982 and has worked in its San Francisco, Los Angeles, Zurich, and Amsterdam offices. As Chief Talent Officer, he oversees Bain’s recruiting, professional development, training, and human resources functions for nearly 6,000 global professionals and staff across 50 offices in 32 countries.

He also has client leadership responsibilities in the areas of consumer products and health-care services. Mr Hagey holds a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. He also serves on a number of community and not-for-profit boards.

Gildan is a leading supplier of quality branded basic family apparel, including T-shirts, fleece, sport shirts, socks and underwear. It owns and operates vertically-integrated, large-scale manufacturing facilities, which are primarily located in Central America and the Caribbean Basin.
