Glenbrae, the Yorkshire quality knitwear brand, has unveiled a new line of accessories that includes hand finished scarves, hats and snoods available in a vibrant array of colours.

The Glenbrae brand has developed a strong presence in corporate and sporting circles, but this is the first time consumers will be able to take advantage of a number of accessories developed by the business.

The range will include a stylish variety of specially designed items developed to suit individual male and female fashions. The launch comes just before Christmas.

New range of accessories

“We’ve enjoyed great success over the years and have kept company with some great names from the world of sport, business, charity and beyond,” commented Richard Brown, owner of Glenbrae and its parent group, Spectrum Yarns.

“This new range of accessories means that more people than ever before can take advantage of our quality knitwear. Yorkshire has a strong tradition of producing the finest garments and we’re proud to have played our part. Generations of this family have been producing knitwear from our mill over the years and this is just the latest chapter in that story.”

Golf wear sector

Traditionally, Glenbrae has been marketed exclusively at the golf wear sector and has enjoyed success, including official endorsements from major golfing personalities, such as former Ryder Cup Captains Sam Torrance and Mark James.

Glenbrae is also a supplier to prestigious golfing venues, such as Royal Birkdale, Gleneagles, Ballybunion and Woburn. Customers outside of its heritage golf sector include British institutions such as the Queen’s Tennis Club and the Scottish Rugby Union.

Spirol technical yarn

Behind Glenbrae garments lies Spirol – a strong, fine technical yarn that is exclusively engineered at the mill in Huddersfield.  This is said to allow the knitwear to move with the wearer, whilst retaining its shape and quality, wash after wash, wear after wear.

Spirol also means that garments retain their softness, resist pilling and creasing and are machine washable, the manufacturer reports. Glenbrae Plus involves the bespoke cresting, colour and detailing of garments, utilising the advanced 3D embroidery process.

Glenbrae

The Glenbrae spinning mill in Slaithwaite is known for producing fine British knitwear, using a combination of the most advanced machinery and generations of expertise to produce exceptional hand-finished garments.

Glenbrae clothing is worn by some of the UK’s best-known sports stars, such as golfer, Mark James, and the brand is the official knitwear partner of Scottish Rugby. The business has a range of corporate customers, which include Maybach and Porsche.
