Golden Lady Company S.p.A. has announced with deep sorrow the passing of its founder and Chairman, Nerino Grassi, on 22 October 2025. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Together with his late wife Erminia, who died in 2021, Nerino Grassi founded Golden Lady in 1966, transforming a small Italian enterprise into a global leader in hosiery and legwear. Under his visionary leadership, the company became synonymous with quality, innovation and industrial excellence, shaping the modern hosiery industry both in Italy and abroad.

From its headquarters in Castiglione delle Stiviere, Golden Lady grew into a vertically integrated group with production facilities across Italy and Europe, known for combining advanced knitting technology with fashion-led design. The group’s portfolio includes internationally recognised brands such as Golden Lady, Philippe Matignon and SiSi, as well as partnerships with major fashion names.

Beyond his role as a business leader, Nerino Grassi was widely respected as a mentor and a symbol of entrepreneurial spirit within Italy’s textile and manufacturing sectors. His vision and perseverance helped sustain local industry through decades of change, earning him admiration across the Italian industrial landscape.

Golden Lady Company expressed its profound condolences to the Grassi family, pledging to honour his human and entrepreneurial legacy with gratitude and respect.

The funeral will take place on 25 October at 09:30 at the Cathedral of Castiglione delle Stiviere, followed by burial at the cemetery of Medole.
