Carvico and Jersey Lomellina in partnership With Healthy Seas, are holding a webinar on Monday 28 September 2020 at 4:00pm entitled Healthy Seas Web Lab: Eco-innovation & Sustainability in Fashion. Presenters are Lucy Siegle, Simona Osio, Lorenzo Ghezzi and Angelo Figus.

“Fashion plays an important role in everybody’s daily life, thus selecting sustainable brands is a must to preserve both our environment, workers’ rights and consumers’ choices,” the organisers say. “Higher environmental integrity and social justice are the drivers of the devolution which is taking by storm the world of fashion and the apparel industry, the second most polluting industry in the world.”

“With over half a century of experience in the production of high-end fabrics Carvico and Jersey Lomellina have rightfully become synonymous to sustainability and eco-innovation applied to sportswear, beachwear, outerwear and also fashion. We are talking about two companies which, thanks concrete, practical, comprehensive and structured action plans have always been committed to make their productions more respectful of the environment so as to preserve our planet health,” the companies add.

“Fashion and sustainability are going to be the focuses of Healthy Seas Web Lab, a web in air to be broadcast on Monday 28 September at 4:00pm, promoted by Healthy Seas, an environmentalist organization  Carvico and JL have been partners of for many years, founded in 2013 with the mission of cleaning the sea bottoms from ghost fishing nets which, after having been recovered by Healthy Seas are turned by Aquafil into Econyl, a 100% regenerated polyamide yarn, which is then used by the two companies headquartered in the district of Bergamo to make several eco-friendly fabrics.”

“From waste to wear, from waste to apparel, this is what the Healthy Seas Web Lab web in air, broadcast on September 28, is about. The protagonists of the online meeting are Simona Osio and Lorenzo Ghezzi from Carvico and Jersey Lomellina, and Lucy Siegle, writer and journalist who has always dealt with environmental issues and topics, co-founder of the Green Carpet Challenge and for14 years The Observer Magazine columnist for the environmental section. Angelo Figus, the well-known designer and art director, is taking part in the event, as well, focusing on the possible uses the fashion world may make of fabrics from regenerated yarn derived from ghost fishing nets which, from a serious threat to our seas are turned into creative tools.”

So, if you want to plunge into the world of avant-garde sustainable fashion, log in to Zoom on Monday 28 September at 4:00pm,” the organisers advise.
